CWoW Fundraiser

So, CWoW (City without Walls), a local gallery that I’m a member of, had their yearly fundraiser. They asked artists to donate artwork. The ticket holders (@ $200 a pop) would get to be in a silent auction with the donated pieces. Artists that donated got tickets, so your boy was up in the joint.

All in all, it was a nice showing, with some great work on display. Some other work, not so much. But I was glad to see that both pieces I donated were picked up! Yay me! I’ve been legitimized through others! I’ll be an artist yet!

Okay so I’ve had my artwork for sale before (yes, all you had to do was ask), but now I’ve partnered with ImageKind (the folks that run CafePress) to offer inexpensive prints (starting at just over 17 bucks) of my work. So just go to http://mokojumbie.imagekind.net and pick up a print!

Summer Blues

Well, it’s right smack dab in the middle of summer, and I thought I’d just give an update on what’s going on and some of my plans, starting with me promoting my artwork more. That means new business cards to design and hand out (gotta pass them out like water), possibly some shirts to hand out so that people could wear them (I like what that Noisy Boys DJ does; have his fans pose and put pics of themselves wearing his shirts on various social sites).

Also, I’m going to make a concerted effort to set up a site for prints. I’ve been looking around to see what the best solution for me is; quality vs. price vs ease of use for the customer. Let me see if I can get a sale or three!

And to top this post off, I’ll post some art that I haven’t had time to post elsewhere right now.

Okay, so today I went to an art exhibit at City Without Walls, which is a local gallery here in Newark, NJ. I decided to join up sometime last year, to get into the Newark art scene if possible. Eventually I got a flyer from them asking for entriels for their annual Small Works exhibit, with the criteria that the submissions couldn’t be larger than 13 inches in any direction. I submitted 4 pieces, they accepted two, which you see here. (Oh, and thanks Ty for accompanying me!)
